Mixings is a spatial installation that explores encounters between past and present, personal and collective experience, and real and imagined space. Drawing on archival photographs of Zagreb, the artist creates a layered visual structure in which historical images overlap with reflections of the contemporary city and the passers-by moving through it. Depending on the viewer’s position and the conditions within the space, different scenes and meanings continuously emerge and dissolve. The installation thus becomes a meeting point between the city’s memory and individual experience, inviting visitors to actively participate in the act of looking. Mixings functions not only as a visual intervention, but also as a space of imagination where the boundaries between time and reality temporarily blur. The work encourages reflection on how we remember the city, how we experience it today, and how we inscribe our own stories into its fabric.
