Shelter

The textile installation Shelter, wrapped around a tree trunk, indeed is – a shelter. Its specific hollow creates a space to crawl in, a sense of refuge and intimacy. A shelter doesn’t need to be made of concrete or steel – today we increasingly find it in nature. It is a space where we can reconnect with it. How many times has this tree given us shade, become a haven of peace and silence in the urban hustle and noise? This installation also provides a shelter for the tree – a gentle cloak made of recycled, ruffled cotton sheets, fabrics emitting warmth, comfort and safety.
