Zagreb Marije Braut

Zagreb by Marija Braut transformed the Music Pavilion in Zrinjevac into an intimate space dedicated to the work of one of Croatia’s most significant photographers. The interior of the pavilion was filled with photographs printed on translucent textile surfaces, creating an impression of floating images. Visitors entered the space surrounded by images of Zagreb, invited to immerse themselves in the visual world of Marija Braut. The installation simultaneously reactivated the public space, brought photographic heritage closer to new generations, and encouraged reflection on the city through its history, atmosphere and everyday life. Through the combination of photography, architecture and light, the work created a unique experience of encountering the city as seen through the lens of one of its most important chroniclers. On Sundays, visitors were invited to a special evening event – a digital projection that further expanded the experience of engaging with the artist’s work.
